Should this local Councillor have been forced to resign?

A local Lib Dem Councillor has had to resign after it was revealed, excuse the pun, that she was a stripper, kissogram and was working for a phone chat line. Personally I think she should have resigned as it was bringing her office of Councillor in to disrepute, but what are your views?.
