Is my budgie/parakeet ok?

I just clipped my parakeets wings last night because he was constantly bumping into walls and i was afraid of him hurting himself. Now he is constantly preening his wings over and over and stretching them out. I usually put on music for him and he goes crazy like a chatterbox but now he doesn't do anything but preen his wings and spread them out & pick at them. Is he alright or is there something wrong? What should I do? Is it normal?
