What if you paid a partial restitution for shoplifting groceries?

Might as well tell the manager yes, I know i cost your store hundreds of dollars,paper work & a spike in prices, but how about I pay half or less in restitution?...your lucky if the store is giving you a break for shoplifting, others go from the store straight to jail.
