Does anyone here agree that Michigan in many ways can only blame itself?

You can't base an entire states economy on one product and not only one product on only a handful of companies making that product. I'm hearing alot of smack about blaming terror, immigrants, Japanese car owners, anti-Americanism bla bla bla. The truth is you have to diversify (pretty much rule #1 of real world economics) and for two long Michigan high school grads would simply graduate and the next day go fill out application forms at GM or Ford which led to a consolidation of the work force.. Now that's over. It's not my fault for owning a Toyota.
