If you want to show your own dog, both of you need handling cles. Your dog definitely needs the socializing, he needs to be in the "atmosphere" of a show. And you will learn correct gaiting, stacking, baiting and ring etiquette and procedures. You'll have an experienced handler to show you things like correct speed for YOUR dog, best stacking for YOUR dog, etc. You can't get any of that from watching some video.
